Today we have talked in class about some questions that we have failed in the test. Irene has explained us about the question of the picture of the tree and the sun.
Also, the question about the building, which answer was the one that said "facing south", and finally, we continue with the lesson about the atmosphere.
During this lesson, Irene explained certain important aspects related to atmosphere.

Today we have done a test to review all the things that we have seen in the first unit. The exam was in the computer room and we did it in pairs. Also, at the end, we have talked about some answers and I think that my partner and I have done a great job.

Today Irene showed us about a Calendar very useful to teach kids about months, days, season.
Then, we have started unit 2.
This second unit is going to be about the atmosphere and the weather. We explained that the atmosphere is mainly made of nitrogen and that it is an envelope of air that rounds our planet. Then we also talked about the air, which is a mixture of many discrete gases, each with its own physical properties, in which varying quantities of tiny solid and liquid particles are suspended.
We also differentiated weather and climate, weather is what you get and climate is what you expect. The weather is the state of the atmosphere at a given time a place while the climate is the sum of all statistical weather information that helps describe a place. We also explained which are the weather and air main variables:
- Air temperature
- Humidity
- Type an amount of cloudiness
- Type an amount of precipitation
- Air pressure
- Speed
The atmosphere is not stable at the beginning, because it changes with altitude but in the Earth this does no happen.
Then Irene has explained us about an activity we will have to do which was about visual campaign.
For this activity, we will have to look information about the damage of plastic in the environment, then to see what people know about the topic, decide what visual aspects the are going to use, decide when, where and how the campaign is going to be
We will also need to think about the budget that this campaign it is going to cost us.

Today Irene has told us that next week we will do an exam practice about the unit.
Then, we have started to talk about the moon. We have made a practice exercise, and the conclusions were these: The reason that we can only see one part of the moon is that the moon is always looking at the same direction when rotating around the earth. As it rotates really slow.
Then we talked about the phases: new moon, first quarter - it looks like a D , full moon and finally third quarter - it looks like a C.
We also talked about synchronous rotation, which is a movement of the moon.
We saw a video about the phases of the moon, which explained why and how these phases occur.
Then Irene told us to pay attention to some words and write their meanings. The word waxing means to increase over time.
If we can only observe from the earth one part of the moon which is the dark part - it is new moon.
From the earth we cannot see the moon fully lighted.
The earth and the sun are in the ecliptic plane but the moon is not, so that’s the reason the moon can receive light from the sun at some point.
Only those in the Earth that are at day time, can point towards the moon.
The third quarter moon can be seen at midnight until the sun starts to rise.
From new moon to first quarter we can find waxing and crescent moon; from first quarter to full we can find waxing/gibbous moon;from full moon to third quarter the moon can be waving/gibbous; and finally from third quarter to new moon it is waving/crescent.
Finally, we talked about eclipses: solar and lunar.
Eclipses means that there is an object that hides another one. The phases in which we can find an eclipse are only in new moon and full moon.
Then, we have seen a video really interesting about all these things that we have learned today.

Today we have been talking about the axis of the Earth, the equinox and the solstice. Also we have been talking abouth how the light get into the earth, for this we have use the lanterns of our movile phone and we have proved that depending on the inclination of the phone the amount of light is different. Also we have to make a draw about how the lights get into the earth, the first drawing was not okay but we learn the right way to do it.
Also we have seen a video about the geography seasons, this video is well-explained and it gives a clear idea about the seasons and also about the axis of the earth. I liked too much the video because it helps you to understand better.

Today we have continued with the planets project. At first, it was a bit difficult for me, but then, I have understood it really good with Irene´s help, and we have started to record the inner planets with the correct distances. First, we have recorded the sun, and then all the planets and the distances between them.

Today the teacher has explained to us a project that we have to do in groups. The project is about the Solar System.
She explained us that we had to create a mock up of the universe, including at least four planets, counting with the Sun or we could do it all.
In order to do it correctly, she told us to built it on scale, in which we had to calculate the diameter of each of this planets having in mind that we could you use for the Sun a basketball ball or another measure the she put on the blackboard. From that, we calculate the sizes of each of the other planets in order to make it on scale. For the next class, we will have to represent it in class, leaving the proper distances between each planet.

Today we have started the class in the playground to be in contact with nature, and we have done an individual activity to start the lesson. The activity was a thinking routine called 'I see, I think, I wonder'. We have done in a piece of paper a list of things that we were seeing (like the sky, shadows, sun ...). Then, we have filled the second part of the thinking routine: I think (for example: it is not going to rain because it isn't any cloud, the sky gets dark at night time ...). And, finally, the last part: I wonder (such as why we don´t see the stars during the day, how far is the sky ...). Then, we gave the papers to the teacher. In my opinion this thinking routine is really useful and also funny.
In class we have answered these questions in groups:
- Where are we? We are on the Earth, that is in the Solar System, that is the milky way, that universe.
- How does the universe info come from? From the satellites, from the science of astronomy, from the astronauts, from the stars...
- Where was the universe formation come from? It starts with the Big Bang, that was a masive explotion in which the whole universe was create including, the stars, the planets, the natural satellites... The explosion was millions of years ago
