4-03-20

Today, we continue with the activity of the other day, in which we share the information that we collect about the colors of the sky.

Also, group by group we had to explain the main ideas of our topic in front of the rest of the class. To do so, in our group, each spokesperson of the different three groups went out to the blackboard to explain our topic. Then, the rest of the groups with their topics did the same, so we listened to their main ideas. One group talked about the Ozone layer, which is a layer that protect us from the ultraviolet rays. Ozone used to be in some products like paints, cosmetics.. but then after the Montreal protocol, we eliminated then from all our products.

We also talked about weather, latitude and longitude. Latitude is a geographic coordinate that specifies the north-south position of a point on the Earth's surface. Longitude is a geographic coordinate that specifies the east-west position of a point on the Earth's surface. Longitude only determines when is day, night, morning...Latitude is going to be more important than longitude.

To conclude, we have talked about air temperature, and concepts like daily temperature range, daily mean temperature, annual mean temperature and annual temperature range.
Regarding this, we can talk about a few factors that changes temperatures: differential heating of land and water, ocean currents, altitude, geographic position and clouds. Altitude changes temperature, the higher the altitude the lower the temperatures. Albedo is the amount of light that is reflected. Ice has a greater albedo than land. Clouds also work like a blanket which maintain the earth temperatures.
